The Controls Department at Five Star Mechanical is focused entirely on building automation. We handle the full life cycle of a control system: budgeting and design during preconstruction, panel fabrication and field installation during construction, programming and commissioning at turnover, and service and support for years afterward.
Our core platforms are Siemens Desigo (Desigo CC, PXC4/PXC5, ABT Site) and Honeywell WEBs on the Tridium Niagara framework (Niagara N4, JACE, WEBs supervisors, SoftJACE, Spyder). We hold current certifications on both, deploying powerful front-ends and reliable field controllers.
We build every system on open protocols (BACnet IP and MS/TP, Modbus TCP and RTU, LonWorks, OPC) so the owner is never locked into a single vendor. We regularly integrate third-party equipment from Trane, Daikin, Mitsubishi, AAON, CaptiveAire, York, Cummins, Ingersoll Rand, and others.
We specialize in modernizing legacy and end-of-life control systems, including Entech BAS, Siemens Apogee, Honeywell, Alerton, JCI, Trane, and other proprietary platforms—migrating them onto current open-protocol hardware while keeping the building running and reusing existing field wiring and devices wherever possible.
We work in environments where downtime is expensive: aerospace and manufacturing, laboratories, data and telecom rooms, healthcare and behavioral health, schools, churches, multifamily, and commercial office. Our customers range from single-site building owners to national facility managers.

A graduate of Clover Park Tech, Caleb has over 8 years of experience in the HVAC industry. With FSM since 2020, Caleb was instrumental in the creation of our Controls Department and continues to expand through training and sharing his vast knowledge with our growing Controls team.
